This site is part family history, part one-name study of the Hodgetts family. It traces my branch through six hundred years in the Midlands before a group of brothers set out for the Victorian goldfields in 1852.
You can begin with the origins of the family or check the person index for someone in particular. Thomas Hodgetts (the Second Fleet convict) pre-dated the gold-seeking brothers by over sixty years. It is highly likely he was distantly related, but I have not established how.
In the process of researching my branch, I gathered a huge amount of information in order to establish relationships and untangle the many men with the same name.
The timelines are by no means exhaustive, especially for areas a long way from the focus of my study (Dudley) but extra information was recorded incidentally. I hope it may be a useful resource for many Hodgetts descendants.
Other families will also be added over time.
